Itinerary
Departure from your place of stay to begin the discovery of southern Morocco. Crossing the High Atlas. stop for a break and visit the Woman Argan Oil Cooperative before you stop for a picture at the panoramic view of Tizi’n Tichka pass to continue to Ouarzazate.
Lunch break and continue to Zagora via the village of Agdez, 69km south of Ouarzazate. It’s located on the old merchant caravan route linking Marrakech and Timbuktu. Visit the Tamnougalt Kasbah in Draa Valley, an old village with traditional houses and gardens all around the palm groves.
Continue to Zagora, a real gold mine for lovers of the Kasbah and Ksar's architecture. Overnight stay and dinner in a beautiful guest house in the city.
After breakfast, departure to Merzouga, taking the route of the famous caravans of the old times. Throughout the journey, a scroll of different landscapes is offered to you: desert landscapes, plains, oasis, palm groves, and Acacia trees. Stop in Rissani for Lunch to enjoy the local dish called Madfouna: a kind of bread that is stuffed with meat, onions. eggs, and a lot of spices. A short visit to Rissani Old Market
Once in Merzouga, you’ll take a camel ride to reach your tented camp and enjoy a magical time, lost in sand dunes and the beauty of the sunset.
Diner around a wood fire with entertainment representing the songs and dances of the inhabitants of this region.
You will admire the sunrise and will head on camels back to Merzouga. Breakfast will be served then departure to Arfoud, the capital of fossils in Morocco. You will be crossing the Ziz Valley before reaching the famous Todra Gorges, reaching 300m in height at several points.
Continuation to Ouarzazate, crossing the road of the 1001 kasbahs to Kalaa Mgouna, a famous village for its roses which bloom every year from mid-April to mid-May. Stop to visit one of the women's cooperatives of distillation of roses if time allows. Reach your Guesthouse or Hotel at the end of the day for an overnight stay and dinner.
Departure from Ouarzazate to Marrakech via the magnificent kasbah: Ait Ben Haddou.
The kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou : visit of this fortress which is part of the world heritage and classified by the UNESCO. It has also been the setting for several world famous films such as Gladiator, the Mummy, Babel, Lawrence of Arabia etc.
Continuation to Marrakech and return to you place of stay.
